Vegetable remains the cheapest anti-oxidant and has a ready market any day any time. It also has a short gestation period, to start getting profit and returns on investment. Starting small really matters but a typical Nigerian or African would want something that will fetch him 1,000,000USD instantly. Its not the best, we ought to start small and gradually monitor progress, diversify into other things thus broadening our horizon, knowledge and as well getting money even when small but 100% realistic. I'm not here to tell you to make money from internet and cash in your 1st 1million USD but i'm not saying its not true. My idea is simple and i promise when implemented, as you diversify you employ people. The first is vegetable farming, i'll spent time on this because there are many types of vegetables. The first is Green(also known as Amarant). This can be dont in a small land mass at your backyard. The implements to use include hoes, cutlass, hand trowel and rake.
1st step: dig beds measuring 7m by 0.5m
2nd step: choose one of your beds as a nursery i.e. This is where you will first of all grow the vegetables before transferring them to the permanent bed which is done after 1week.
3rd step: in the morning, water the bed and make it receptive to seeds after which you spread the seeds on the nursery bed. Before spreading the seeds on the nursery bed, because the seeds are tiny mix it with dry-sand, ensure easy distribution.
4th step: 1weeks after planting, you transplant to permanent beds and water twice a day i.e. Morning and evening.
The watering is an everyday thing and harvesting begins 2weeks after transplanting. The first harvest is usually scanty but not a total harvesting, it is called topping in agriculture. Harvesting continues for a month and it is done once a week. Your income increases in a every harvest and the market is a ready one especially if you are in south eastern part of Nigeria. Remember, this not a major job but will always support your spending and nutrition(dual function). My first time in the business, i was getting at least 1500naira from 6beds.
